Report: Spurs will move for this star if £50m bid for Jules Kounde fails

According to a report from La Colina de Nervion, Tottenham Hotspur are set to launch a £50m offer for Sevilla centre-back Jules Kounde and will then turn their attention to Milan Skriniar if that fails.

Kounde has been a revelation since moving to Seville from Bordeaux back in 2019 and has admitted that he is ready to make a big move this summer.

The 22-year-old is rumoured to be one of the centre-backs on Tottenham’s radar this summer, with Fabrizio Romano even claiming last week that the North London club were in talks with the centre-back’s representatives.

La Colina de Nervion have now revealed that Tottenham’s interest in Kounde is genuine and that the Lilywhites ‘would be proposing’ a £50m offer.

The report adds that Manchester United have also reignited their interest in the Sevilla star but might not be able to afford him due to the investment they have made in Jadon Sancho.

Finally, it is also asserted that Spurs could make a move for Inter Milan’s Milan Skriniar if they cannot agree on a deal for Kounde.

Spurs Web Opinion

Of all the centre-backs we have been linked with (including the likes of Vestergaard, Andersen, Milenkovic, Tomiyasu), Kounde is by far the most exciting.

He seems to have all the attributes to develop into one of the best central defenders in Europe over the coming years. However, the 22-year-old will also likely cost significantly more than the other central defenders rumoured to be on our radar.
