Tottenham Hotspur will only make an offer for Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic if Tanguy Ndombele leaves the club, according to a report by L’Equipe (as relayed by The Daily Mail).
Spurs are said to be one of a number of English clubs who have been linked with a move for the Lazio player.
While it was initially reported (Corriere Della Sera) that the Serie A outfit were said to be demanding over £90million for the midfielder, Foot Mercato revealed last week that they were ready to accept around £63million for the 25-year-old due to the financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
L’Equipe (via The Daily Mail) now claim that Paris Saint-Germain believe they can land the midfielder for just £50million and the French giants could soon launch an offer for the Montenegro international.
Tottenham are also mentioned as a potential suitor with Jose Mourinho said to be a fan of the midfielder.
However, the report makes it clear any bid from Spurs for Milinkovic-Savic depends on the club being able to find a buyer for Ndombele this summer.
Spurs Web Opinion
Some Spurs fans seem to be taking it for granted that Ndombele will stay for at least another season but I am not so confident. A lot will depend on how the Frenchman performs in the final nine games of the season. If he still struggles for fitness after having had a lengthy break to recover from his niggling injuries, I would not be surprised if we decided to cut our loses on him in the summer.
