Report: Spurs will pursue two Premier League stars if they get top four

According to GiveMeSport, Tottenham Hotspur will look to snap up Christian Eriksen and Youri Tielemans in the summer if they manage to qualify for the Champions League.

Spurs are three points clear of Arsenal in fourth place heading into the weekend, with the Gunners having a game in hand over their North London rivals.

GiveMeSport claim the Lilywhites see both Eriksen and Tielemans as ‘priority’ signings should they finish in the top four.

It is said that while Tottenham were disappointed in the manner in which Eriksen departed to join Inter Milan in 2020, they hold no grudge against the 30-year-old and have always been open to welcoming the Dane back.

Spurs are also thought to believe that Tielemans would be open to a switch to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with Antonio Conte’s men hoping to steal a march on their rivals for the £30m-rated midfielder.

GiveMeSport also add that Tottenham are ‘growing in confidence’ about winning the race for West Brom goalkeeper Sam Johnstone, who is set to become a free agent this summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

We are certainly going to need a bigger squad if we get into the Champions League and all three of the signings mentioned would help in that regard.

While Tielemans has not lived up to his usual standards this season, I do see the Belgian as being a decent fit for Conte’s system and I would expect the Italian to bring the best out of him.
