Report: Spurs will sell first-team star if they get an offer of £15m this summer

Football Insider have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are willing to listen to offers for Ben Davies when the transfer window opens.

Even though Ben Davies has been a regular in the starting eleven for the majority of the season, the report states that Spurs are ready to move him on this summer, irrespective of the identity of their next manager.

The Wales international has two years left on his contract but the club are ready to sell him this summer rather than offering him a new deal.

This is because the North London club are said to recognise that they need a huge overhaul of the core of the side this summer in order to be competitive next season.

Football Insider state that the Lilywhites hierarchy value the 30-year-old at £15m and will cash in if they receive such an offer.

Davies has made 310 appearances for Spurs since his switch from Swansea City in 2014 and it is suggested that the clash at Elland Road may have been his final match for the club.

Spurs Web Opinion

Davies has been a loyal servant for the club and remains underrated as a player by the majority of the fan base.

However, with the Welshman now entering his thirties, perhaps this summer would be the right time to move him on as we can still get decent value for him in the market.

I do not expect a final decision to be made on the defender’s future until a new manager is in place.
