Report: Spurs willing meet club’s £22m asking price for international

Tottenham Hotspur are ready to pay the £22million asking price which Fenerbahce are demanding for striker Vedat Muriqi according to reports in Turkey.

The striker has been in impressive form this season registering fifteen goals and six assists in 28 games for the Turkish giants in all competitions (transfermarkt).

Muriqi was linked with a move to North London during the January transfer window when the North Londoners were looking to help fill the void left following Harry Kane’s hamstring injury (Aksam) only for a deal to fail to materialise and the striker ended up staying at Fenerbache.

Spurs have been installed as the favourites to land the 25-year-old in the summer (Radiosei via Lalaziosiamonoi).

Turkish newspaper Sozcu (via Sport Witness) reported last month that planned negotiations between the clubs for Muriqi had been delayed due to the COVID-19 crisis.

However, Fanatik now back Spurs to push ahead with the transfer and reveal that the Lilywhites are ready to meet Fenerbahce’s £22million valuation of the Kosovan international.

The report suggests that Spurs are likely to beat Lazio to Muriqi’s signature in the summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

While Muriqi is still unproven at the highest level, he has all the attributes to be a terrific asset for us. We have lacked an option like him in the squad since Llorente left. At the reported price, this is the kind of deal we are likely to be looking at this summer rather than big-money moves.

Standing tall at 6ft 3in he would certainly fit the physical stature that Mourinho is looking for in a target man.
