Report: Spurs willing to offer €40m for midfielder

Spanish publication Sport reported on Monday that a whole host of clubs including Tottenham, Manchester United, Bayern Munich, and Atletico Madrid are all tracking Dinamo Zagreb midfielder Dani Olmo.

The 21-year-old, who was one of the stars of Spain’s triumphant Euro U-21 Championship campaign, has given a long interview to the publication in which he claims that he is calm about his future despite the recent links with some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

However, the midfielder makes it clear that a move away from Zagreb is very much on the cards.

Olmo, who was a graduate from La Masia before moving to Croatia was asked if he fancied a return to Barcelona, he responded: “I do not rule out any team.

“Out of respect for all those who are interested in me I will not say anything.

“You have to respect everyone. What has to be will already be seen.”

However, the Spaniard insisted that he hadn’t spoken with his agent as of yet and doesn’t know which of the rumours were true.

The report claims that both Spurs and Manchester United are willing to pay up to €40M to land the youngster this summer ahead of the new Premier League season.

The player’s comments certainly seem to indicate that he is on his way out but with so much interest in him, it is not clear if Spurs will be able to nab him. Olmo is likely one of Tottenham’s alternative options if they fail to get one of their primary targets.
