Report: Spurs winger expected to undergo medical today ahead of move

Football.London have revealed that Jack Clarke is expected to undergo his medical today ahead of completing a loan move to Sunderland.

Since arriving at Tottenham in a £10m deal (Evening Standard) from Leeds in the summer of 2019, Clarke has struggled to get regular game time in North London.

The 21-year-old had unsuccessful spells at Leeds United and QPR during the 2019/20 campaign but the winger did show some promise during his loan spell at Stoke City in the second half of last season.

The youngster has made just one senior appearance for the Lilywhites during the current campaign but has been in fine form for the Under-23s, having scored three goals and picked up four assists so far (Transfermarkt).

Football.London report that Spurs are set to send Clarke to the Black Cats who are pushing for promotion back to the Championship and will join until the end of the campaign.

The Leeds academy graduate is expected to seal his move at the Stadium of Light after completing his medical today.

Spurs Web Opinion

One would have expected Clarke to be loaned out to a Championship club, given that he did quite well at Stoke last term. So, I am surprised that Spurs have sent him to Sunderland.

Perhaps, the North Londoners were trying to ensure the 21-year-old gets regular game time, which he certainly will at Lee Johnson’s side.
