Report: Spurs winger in discussions over January exit

According to a report by Football Insider, QPR are now in advanced talks to sign Jack Clarke on loan for the remainder of the season after a breakthrough in their negotiations with Tottenham.

Clarke was recalled from his loan spell with Leeds United due to a lack of game time with Jose Mourinho confirming Tottenham’s intention to loan him out to another club where he is guaranteed to feature on a regular basis (Football.London).

Football Insider reported previously that there was considerable interest in the 19-year-old with the likes of Middlesbrough, Fulham, Swansea City, Millwall, Derby Count, Nottingham Forest and Celtic all said to be keen on taking the winger on loan.

However, it now appears that QPR have beaten the considerable competition for Clarke’s signature.

The negotiations between Spurs and the Championship club are reportedly close to being finalised with the teenager in line to make his debut in the game against his former club Leeds United at Loftus Road on Saturday.

Spurs Web Opinion

Out of the various clubs Clarke was linked with, I always believed QPR would be the ideal club for him given that the youngster needs to get game time in the second half of the season. QPR, unlike some of the other sides reportedly interested in Clarke, aren’t under any pressure to get promoted or of being relegated. Mark Warburton has a reputation of trusting young players and so hopefully Clarke will get his chances at the West London club.
