Report: Spurs would be willing to listen to summer offers for 20-year-old

According to Cadena SER, Tottenham Hotspur would be willing to cash in on Bryan Gil during the summer transfer window.

Gil has had a tremendous start to his loan spell at Valencia, having seemingly carried on from where he left off at Eibar during the 2020/21 season before his move to Spurs.

According to The Athletic, Tottenham remain hopeful that the 20-year-old has a promising future in North London and expect him to return to the club in the summer.

El Desmarque claimed this week that Valencia asked Spurs to include an option to buy Gil in the summer but Antonio Conte’s men informed the La Liga club that any clause would be ‘very high’ and not ‘worth it’.

However, Cadena SER have now suggested that Tottenham would be willing to listen to offers for the Spain international in the summer.

The report adds that Valencia would like to sign Gil permanently but the club might not have the required funds to complete a deal for the player. It is explained that Los Che would have to cash in on Goncalo Guedes in order to fund a move for the Spurs man.

Spurs Web Opinion

While Gil is a very talented footballer, the jury is still out on whether he has a future at Spurs under Conte.

However, whatever it is that the Spurs boss thinks of the 20-year-old, I would be very surprised if he is let go by the club in the summer, just 12 months after signing him from Sevilla.

If Conte does not feel Gil is ready to compete for a first-team spot, I would expect Tottenham to loan him out again next season, potentially to a Premier League club.
