Report: Spurs would have to beat Arsenal, Man City and Chelsea to sign 18-year-old

Fichajes have now claimed that Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City are now ready to challenge Tottenham Hotspur for Club Brugge sensation Antonio Nusa.

It has been widely reported over the last month that Tottenham are continuing to monitor Nusa closely after their failed attempts to sign the winger in January.

The latest such update came from Dean Jones, who revealed in his column on GiveMeSport two weeks ago that while Spurs retain their interest in the 18-year-old, they are being a bit cautious about his fitness after he failed a medical at Brentford in January.

Jones suggested that Brugge are not willing to budge from their £25m valuation of the Norway international.

Tottenham have competition in Antonio Nusa race

Fichajes have now also backed up Tottenham’s interest in Nusa, stating that the Lilywhites want to add depth and youth to their squad and see the teenager as a potential ‘key piece’ of their project.

However, the report reveals that Spurs are not alone in the race, with Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City also showing ‘strong interest’ in the player ahead of the summer.

The outlet adds that Nusa now looks set to become ‘one of the most coveted talents in Europe’, with many of the continent’s ‘most powerful clubs’ keen on securing his signature.

I expect Tottenham to abandon their pursuit of Nusa and pursue other young attackers instead. Not only is there a question mark over the Club Brugge star’s fitness but he also rejected Spurs’ advances in January in favour of a move to Brentford, which might not sit well with Postecoglou.
