Report: Spurs’ £10m man had loan interest from three clubs but will stay

Journalist Pete O’Rourke has revealed that Jack Clarke has decided to stay at Tottenham and fight for his place instead of seeking a move away.

Nuno Espirito Santo has plenty of options to choose from in the wide areas, with Lucas Moura and Steven Bergwijn making strong starts to the season and the exciting Bryan Gil arriving from Sevilla.

The North London club are thought to be keen on adding further reinforcements to the wide areas, with Adama Traore also alleged to be a target.

However, O’Rourke has now revealed that despite the competition for places at Spurs, Clarke has decided to stay and fight for his spot in Nuno’s squad.

The £10million signing had a promising loan spell at Stoke in the second half of last season after struggling in his spells at Leeds and QPR in the 2019/20 campaign.

O’Rourke revealed that three different clubs expressed interest in signing the 20-year-old on loan but the winger decided to stay at N17.

Perhaps Clarke is hoping that he will get opportunities in the Europa Conference League this season. However, I cannot see him making more than a few appearances off the bench and I believe another loan move to a Championship club would have been ideal for his development.
