Report: Spurs youngster included in provisional senior Ireland squad for EURO 2020 qualifier

Tottenham Hotspur striker, Troy Parrott, only made his under 21 debut for the Republic of Ireland earlier this season, scoring three goals in his first three games.

However, the 17-year-old has now been named in a provisional senior squad for the upcoming EURO 2020 qualifier against Denmark (Irish Examiner).

Mick McCarthy has named a 39-man squad for the match, with a friendly against New Zealand coming before the Denmark clash.

Troy Parrott has impressed so far this season for Spurs, kickstarting his career in North London with an impressive pre-season on the tour of Asia.

He has since gone on to make his senior full debut for the Lilywhites in a loss to Colchester United in the Carabao Cup earlier in the year. Although, Parrott did show flashes of potential in that disappointing match.

It remains to be seen whether the youngster makes the final Ireland squad, but Parrott has clearly put himself in McCarthy’s mind at the very least.

Well done, Troy!
