Report: Spurs zoning in on new top centre-back target instead of Adarabioyo

GiveMeSport have claimed that Tosin Adarabioyo is no longer Tottenham’s top centre-back target this summer.

The report backs up what we have heard from other sources by stating that Spurs are not done yet strengthening at centre-back despite Micky van de Ven’s arrival, with the North London club thought to be after another defender.

The outlet adds that the club’s interest in Adarabioyo is ‘genuine’, with the Fulham star seeking to make a step up from Craven Cottage this summer.

However, it is alleged that the 25-year-old is no longer Tottenham’s ‘most pressing aim’ this summer and that the Lilywhites have no intention of overpaying for him.

Spurs choose Perr Schuurs over Tosin Adarabioyo

Instead, Spurs are now thought to be prioritising a move for Torino’s Perr Schuurs, with the club said to have ‘zoned in’ on the Dutchman over recent days as they see him as a player who would ‘greatly improve’ their backline.

This report comes just a few days after The Times reported that Tottenham wish to offload Japhet Tanganga, Davinson Sanchez and Joe Rodon, and bring Schuurs through the door before the window slams shut.

Spurs Web Opinion

If Adarabioyo was Tottneham’s top target, the club would have likely got a deal for the Fulham star over the line by now. With Spurs now set to get a cash influx owing to Kane’s sale to Bayern, I would not be surprised if they now pushed ahead with a move for Edmond Tapsoba.
