Report: Star ready to fly to London in ‘next hours’ to complete Spurs move

TuttoMercatoWeb have claimed that Pierluigi Gollini is ready to fly to London to complete his proposed move to Tottenham Hotspur.

Gollini has been Atalanta’s number one for the past few seasons but the club have now seemingly decided to cash in on the former Aston Villa stopper after their acquisition of Juan Musso from Udinese.

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold was the first to reveal on Monday that Spurs were close to reaching an agreement with Atalanta for the goalkeeper before other sources also confirmed that the 26-year-old was set to join the North Londoners on loan.

TMW have now revealed that the two clubs have reached an agreement on a loan deal for the goalkeeper.

The report reveals that Spurs will pay a loan fee of €3m (£2.6m) and will have an option to buy Gollini permanently for €15m (£13m) which will become an obligation if the player makes a specified number of appearances next season.

The report asserts that the Atalanta star’s entourage are in ‘continuous telephone contact’ regarding the proposed move and that the player is ready to fly to London to complete his medical and sign the contract.

Spurs Web Opinion

We certainly needed to sign another goalkeeper after Gazzaniga’s departure and Paratici has seemingly pulled off a masterstroke.

Not only would Gollini be an upgrade over Hart but he could potentially be groomed to be Lloris’ successor if he does well.

The fact that it is a loan deal means that there are no downsides for Spurs if the move does not work out for the 26-year-old.
