Report: Star Spurs were linked with in summer already unhappy at new club

Reported Tottenham summer transfer target Gianluigi Donnarumma is allegedly already unhappy at Paris Saint-Germain, according to Corriere della Sera.

The 22-year-old secured a moved to the French giants after a host of impressive performances at Euro 2020, in which he earned the Player of the Tournament award for his efforts in helping Italy secure the trophy.

Donnarrumma was among a number of star-studded names to move to the Parc des Princes this summer, which included Lionel Messi, Sergio Ramos and Achraf Hakimi.

However, things haven’t been going so smoothly for the Italian, who is reportedly unhappy with the current backup role he has been handed under Mauricio Pochettino.

He has started just two of PSG’s nine games in Ligue 1 so far, with Keylor Navas securing a starting berth in goal instead.

Corriere della Sera add that if the situation does not improve soon, the player’s agent Mino Raiola could look for an exit for his client.

As such, the report claims Juventus could look to prepare a move to pick up Donnarumma next summer if he has not secured an improved role.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Spurs reportedly launched an ambitious attempt to sign the goalkeeper, after the club’s director Fabio Paratici explored the possibility of luring him to North London alongside him.

PSG have two world-class goalkeepers at their disposal, and Donnarumma will evidently have to work for his place in the starting line-up.

He would be an amazing coup for Spurs if they were seriously looking to pursue a move, but it is very early days for him in France, and he has a lot of time to turn things around.
