Report: Starlet Spurs were interested in undergoes medical at another club

Football Insider have reported that Kyle Joseph has now undergone a medical with Swansea City over a potential move from Wigan Athletic.

A recruitment source reportedly informed the news outlet that the highly-rated youngster had began his medical with the Swans as the finishing touches are put on his transfer.

Although a compensation fee of around £1m will be paid to Wigan, Joseph is actually leaving the club on a free transfer this summer.

It is said that both Celtic and Newcastle offered long-term contracts to the 19-year old. Tottenham and Rangers pulled out of the race are looking closely at the teenager.

The report claims that Joseph picked Swansea because of the plans laid out for his development, something that Premier League clubs Spurs and Newcastle would have found difficult considering the competition for places.

It appears that Spurs will not be signing the attacker at a bargain fee of £1m.
