Report states Eriksen could still move to Madrid if this player goes the other way

Tottenham Hotspur would have been hoping for some transfer sagas of their own this summer, however, rumours linking Christian Eriksen to Real Madrid have dominated the headlines (SportsMole).

Spurs’ star playmaker has enjoyed six good years in North London, but revealed to the Danish press that he is ready for a new challenge and a step up next season (Ekstra Bladet).

However, he did add that if no bid came in from a bigger club, then he would be open to signing a new contract at Tottenham.

Early in the window, Eriksen was heavily tipped for a move across to Spain (SportsMole), but reports this week have suggested that Real Madrid have now dropped their interest in him (Marca).

This comes after the Spanish giants signed Eden Hazard from Chelsea for an initial fee of around £89m (BBC).

However, the Daily Mail now claim that a swap deal could reignite Real’s possibilities of signing Eriksen, with Gareth Bale moving the other way, back to his old club Spurs.

Spurs Web Opinion:

I just can’t see it happening. I can’t see Bale taking the wage drop. I can’t see Poch wanting Bale in the side. And I can’t see Spurs accepting anything but cold, hard cash for Eriksen this summer.
