Report states Pochettino wants to be considered for United job

Manchester United fired Jose Mourinho this week, as the board and players lost confidence in their manager (BBC).

The club announced Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as Mourinho’s immediate replacement (Express), but only on an interim basis until the end of the season for now.

After this time, United may chose to appoint someone else on a more permanent basis.

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has been linked with the United job for some time now, and there has been a flurry of rumours since Jose got the sack (Standard).

Although the Argentine will not be moving yet, The Times report that he wants to be considered come the summer.

This begs the question, who has he told that he wants to be considered? Are we supposed to believe he has called up United and made his wishes clear? Has he told Levy he wants to leave?

It all seems like the mainstream media trying to make a story out of absolutely nothing.

Poch signed a new five year deal in the summer, and I very much doubt he will be leaving any time soon (Telegraph).

United would also have to buy out his £34m deal in order to land him, as he has no buy out clause in the contract (Mail).
