Report: Steve Bruce wants to make Spurs player his first signing at Newcastle

It looks like Tottenham are set for wholesale changes at full back this season.

Kieran Trippier departed to Atletico Madrid while Mauricio Pochettino has admitted that Danny Rose is also seeking a solution for his future (Football.London).

Rose, who hasn’t travelled with the Spurs squad to Singapore and Shanghai for their pre-season matches, is now being linked with a move to Newcastle United by The Daily Star.

The report claims that Steve Bruce, who recently took over the reigns at the Magpies wishes to make the England international his first signing.

It is suggested that the Geordies wish to flex some muscle to appease the fans who have been angered by Bruce’s appointment as Rafa Benitez’s successor and will make a bid of around £15m for Rose.

The Daily Mail report that Spurs are confident of sealing a deal of around £25m for Fulham’s Ryan Sessegnon, who is claimed to Spurs’ preferred choice to replace Rose.

The performances that he produced towards the end of last season suggested that Rose was once again getting back to his best. If he is to leave the club, he should certainly be going to a better team than Newcastle.
