Report: Glasgow Rangers looking to snap up ex-Spurs academy graduate this summer

According to a report from Football Insider, Glasgow Rangers are interested in snapping up former Tottenham Hotspur defender, Christian Maghoma when the transfer window opens in the summer.

The central defender came through the Spurs academy but failed to make a single senior appearance for the club before being released in the summer of 2018.

Maghoma was signed by Polish club, Arka Gdynia soon after being released by the North Londoners and he has been a regular for the side for the past couple of seasons.

It looks as if Rangers have been alerted to the 22-year-old’s displays and have now identified him as a target.

The report from Football Insider claims that Steven Gerrard is looking for a physically imposing and aerially dominant centre-half this summer and Maghoma fits the profile.

Rangers are said to face strong competition for the DR Congo international but are determined to bring him to Ibrox Stadium.

The report does claim that a lot of clubs are competing for Maghom’s signature and so it does look like it might take a multi-million-pound fee to sing him this summer. If he does move for a substantial fee, surely Tottenham will be kicking themselves for releasing him for free in 2018.
