Report: Striker keen on joining Spurs after hearing about club’s interest

According to the latest reports from Turkey, Fenerbahce striker Vedat Muriqi wants to complete a move to Tottenham Hotspur after hearing of the North Londoners’ interest.

Fotomac (via Sport Witness) claimed last week that Spurs were set to return for Muriqi’s services in the summer after failing to land the Kosovo international in January. It was claimed that the club viewed the striker as ideal cover for Harry Kane.

Takvim reported on Saturday (via Sport Witness) that Jose Mourinho is directly behind the club’s pursuit of the 26-year-old.

The Spurs boss is said to be pressing the Tottenham board to make an offer for the Fenerbahce star.

Fanatik now reports that Tottenham’s financial difficulties have made it unlikely that the Lilywhites are going to meet Fenerbahce’ asking price.

Regardless, Muriqi himself is said to be desperate to complete a move to North London.

It was previously reported that Fenerbahce were holding out for around €25 million for the striker (Sabah via Sport Witness).

Spurs Web Opinion

It is clear that we won’t have much money to spend this summer but we hardly need to break the bank for Muriqi. One would imagine we would be able to raise more than enough funds by moving on our deadwood this summer to be able to afford the Fenerbahce star.
