Report: Striker said to be wanted by Spurs has release clause of just £22m

According to El Futbolero, River Plate sensation Lucas Beltran, who is rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar, can be signed for less than £22m this summer.

Beltran, who has emerged as River Plate‘s main marksman following Julian Alvarez’s switch to Manchester City, has managed nine goals in 22 appearances across all competitions so far this season (Transfermarkt).

It was first reported by TNT Sports last week that the centre-forwards displays had caught the attention of some heavy hitters from Europe, including Spurs.

The publication added AC Milan are leading the race for the 22-year-old’s signature, with the Serie A giants already said to have met with River Plate president Jorge Brito regarding the player.

El Futbolero have now also revealed that Lucas Beltran is sought after ahead of the summer transfer window and they also assert that the striker has a release of €25m (£21.5m) in his contract.

The publication adds that apart from Milan, the Argentine is also on the radars of Juventus while Atletico Madrid have also allegedly entered the race for his signature over recent days.

Spurs Web Opinion

Beltran has only played a handful of matches in the Argentine top flight despite being 22 years of age, which is why it is quite surprising that several top European clubs are eyeing moves for him.

Perhaps scouts from these teams have spotted something special about him that indicates that he can easily make the step up through many levels.
