Report: Striker Spurs tried to sign during summer could now be available

Fussball Transfers have claimed that Stuttgart striker Sasa Kalajdzic, who was the subject of alleged interest from Tottenham Hotspur during the summer, could be allowed to leave the Bundesliga club in the near future.

Kalajdzic enjoyed a prolific season last time out, scoring 16 goals and registered 6 assists in 33 Bundesliga appearances.

He was reported to be one of the strikers on Tottenham’s radar during the summer transfer window but the striker ended up staying put at Stuttgart.

The Austrian international has only made one appearance this season as a shoulder injury has kept him out of action.

However, Fussball Transfers now claim that Kalajdzic is nearing full fitness and is expected to soon be available to Pellegrino Matarazzo for selection.

The report explains that Stuttgart have to make a decision on the 24-year-old soon as his contract expires in the summer of 2023.

It is stated that there have been no talks over a new deal with the player’s entourage and the club may decide to cash in on him at the end of the season.

The report also reveals that Spurs, Leipzig, AC Milan and Chelsea expressed an interest in Kalajdzic during the summer and Europe’s heavy hitters could once again test the Bundesliga club’s resolve over the coming months.

Spurs Web Opinion

We certainly need another striker given that Conte does not tend to play without a target man. The Italian was forced to start Kane against Mura since we lack another natural number nine.

Kalajdzic certainly fits the profile of Spurs need with regards to a backup for Kane. I would not be surprised if the club reignite their interest in the Austrian if he does well after returning from injury.
