Report: Striker wanted by Spurs now available for just £13.5 million

Gent striker, Jonathan David, who is rumoured to be on Tottenham’s radar, is now said to be available for a cut-price £13.5 million, according to reports in Spain.

David has been prolific in front of goal this season, netting 23 goals and 10 assists in 40 appearances across all competitions (transfermarkt.com).

Spurs have reportedly sent scouts to Belgium to watch the Canadian international this season (Het Laatste Nieuws) while he is also said to have attracted interest from the likes of Arsenal and Liverpool (Walfoot)

The 20-year-old has already admitted that he wants to leave Gent and play at a higher level in order to continue progressing (Sky Sports).

Estadio Deportivo now reveal that the Belgian side have slashed their asking price for the young striker to just £13.5 million due to the financial impact of COVID-19.

The report also reveals that Real Betis are keen on landing the Canadian international this summer and could compete with the Premier League trio for his signature.

With the Belgian league also ending abruptly due to the pandemic, clubs will have taken a huge financial hit. Many of the players in the division will thus be available for cut-price deals this summer and so there will be some great deals to be had. David certainly won’t be the last player whose price is slashed.
