Report: Striker wanted by Spurs set for showdown talks with manager

According to a report in The Times, Gabriel Jesus, who is rumoured to be on Tottenham’s wishlist, is set for talks with Pep Guardiola over his future.

Manchester City have emerged as Harry Kane’s most likely destination if the striker leaves Spurs this summer.

Reports indicate that while Tottenham have not given up hope of holding on to their talisman, they have come up with contingency plans in case they lose the 27-year-old.

Some sources indicate that the club have compiled a list of City stars who they would be willing to accept in a part-exchange deal for Kane.

According to The Daily Star, Jesus is one of the players on Tottenham’s radar and the North London club could accept a bid of around £70m plus the Brazilain for Kane.

The Times now claim that Jesus is unhappy with the amount of game time he got under his belt this season.

The striker will reportedly have talks with Guardiola over his prospects of getting regular game time next season before making a final decision on his future.

Spurs Web Opinion

Jesus is an extremely skilful player and one of the best forwards in the Premier League when he is in form. However, as a striker, he is nowhere near as clinical as some of the best in the world and I do not see him scoring more than 15 goals a season at Spurs.
