Report: Striker who was on Tottenham’s radar set for West Ham move

The Daily Mail report that West Ham United are confident of signing Josh King, who was previously on Tottenham’s radar before tomorrow’s domestic transfer deadline.

The Telegraph reported in the final week of the European transfer window that Tottenham turned their attention to King after seeing their efforts to land Napoli striker Arkadiusz Milik collapse.

The report suggested that the Norwegian international was keen to return to the Premier League after Bournemouth’s relegation and that the Lilywhites were looking to secure his services before the October 16 deadline.

However, Jose Mourinho’s men ended up signing Carlos Vinícius from Benfica on a season long loan deal with just days left in the transfer window.

The Daily Mail now claim that the Lilywhites looked at King as an option before eventually deciding to move for Vinícius.

The report reveals that David Moyes’ side are hopeful of landing the Bournemouth man before tomorrow’s deadline, with the Cherries holding out for £16million to part company.

If the Hammers do manage to secure a deal for the 28-year-old, he might well line up against Tottenham in the London derby this Sunday if he is registered in time.
