Report: Striker’s contract talks reach impasse amidst Tottenham transfer interest

Napoli striker, Arkadiusz Milik, has demanded that the Italian giants insert a £35 million release clause in his new contract, amidst interest from the likes of Spurs.

Calcio Napoli 24 reported a few days ago that Milik is one of the players Jose Mourinho is eyeing up as he looks to bring in an experienced striker to take some of the goalscoring burden away from Harry Kane.

The Polish forward has netted twelve goals in twenty-two appearances in all competitions so far this season (transfermarkt).

Calciomercato now reports that Spurs face heavy competition from their North London rivals, Arsenal for the centre-forward’s signature.

Milik is still said to be in talks with Napoli over a new deal but, in the light of interest from the likes of Spurs and Arsenal, he is said to have demanded that a £35 million release clause be included.

It is asserted that Napoli are unwilling to add such a release clause which is why contract talks have reportedly reached a temporary impasse.

Milik would be a terrific addition for us as not only does he come with a lot of experience but he also gives us the plan B which we have been missing since we let Fernando Llorente leave. Let’s hope we can take advantage of his current contract situation and swoop for him in the summer.
