Report: Manchester United player’s form could cause re-think interest in Spurs star

According to a report by the Evening Standard, Manchester United might rethink their chase for Harry Kane in the summer and could instead pursue a permanent deal for Odion Ighalo.

Kane’s future has been subject to some speculation over recent weeks with reports suggesting that the England captain is growing increasingly frustrated with playing under Jose Mourinho (The Express).

It was also claimed that the Red Devils wanted the 26-year-old to make his intention to leave Tottenham clear before moving for him in the summer (The Athletic).

The Evening Standard report that Kane remains highly regarded by those at Manchester United as they seek to bolster their forward line in an attempt to bridge the gap with Liverpool and Manchester City.

It is suggested that Ighalo’s form since arriving at Old Trafford on loan in January is prompting a rethink about the club’s summer plans.

The report says United could decide to pursue a permanent deal for the Nigerian international in the summer even though they do not have an option to buy him at the end of the loan deal.

Spurs Web Opinion

Not only do I doubt Manchester United could afford Harry Kane but I don’t think the striker will want to swap Spurs for United at this point. I can potentially see him joining a Real Madrid a year or two down the line if we show no signs of improvement but I don’t think we are in any risk of losing him this summer.
