Report: ‘Strong belief’ at Spurs that 22-year-old could become one of world’s best

Football.London have revealed there is a ‘strong belief’ around Tottenham that Dejan Kulusevski could become one of the world’s best players.

Kulusevski has hit the ground since arriving at Spurs from Juventus in January, with the Swede’s goals and assists proving vital in helping Antonio Conte’s men to secure Champions League qualification last season.

The 22-year-old carried on from where he left off in Tottenham’s season opener against Southampton on Saturday, getting a goal and an assist in the home side’s 4-1 win.

The former Juve man has now registered ten assists in the Premier League since his Spurs debut, which is the most of any player in the division during that time (Fantasy Premier League).

Conte remarked after the game that the winger could become the best in the world in his position if he continues working hard and remains humble (BBC Sport via Yahoo).

Football.London assert that the Spurs head coach and others inside the club believe Kulusevski has what it takes to be a world-class player.

The report also claims that the Sweden international’s loan deal at the club will be made permanent next summer.

Conte reportedly tried to sign Kulusevski when he was at Inter Milan and both he and Fabio Paratici are ‘huge fans’ of the wide-man.

Spurs Web Opinion

Kulusevski does not appear to have any particular weakness in his game. He is capable of going past defenders in one vs one situations if they get too tight to him while also being able to pick out a pass if they stand off him.

His decision-making is excellent while he is also a handful to deal with physically. There is no doubt that Spurs have a gem on their hands.
