Report suggests date for Spurs stadium opening

Tottenham Hotspur have been plagued with delays when it comes to their new stadium this summer, but a finishing date could finally be on the horizon.

The stadium was originally supposed to open on September 15 against Liverpool but issues with the fire safety system kept this from happening.

Since then the seats have been installed, the pitch has been laid and the goal posts have been erected, giving the 62,000 seat stadium the look of a finished ground.

Mauricio Pochettino has already let slip the stadium should be finished before the end of 2018, meaning a new grand opening date can’t be far away.

This news couldn’t come soon enough, as the Tottenham team struggling with injuries need any kind of boost they can get at the moment.

The Telegraph have reported that December 15 is the most likely opening date for the first game at the stadium, as Spurs would host visitors Burnley.

What a Christmas present for the Tottenham faithful.
