Report suggests four players Spurs could swap for Danny Ings

The Express have now suggested four players Tottenham could use in a potential swap deal for Southampton’s Danny Ings this summer.

It was reported this week that Tottenham had made the England striker their number one target for the summer, with the intention of playing him up front alongside Harry Kane.

However, The Evening Standard claimed that Spurs may find it difficult to strike a deal with the Saints as the relationship between the two clubs is strained.

It is said that the way Daniel Levy and co went about trying to sign Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg last summer has left a bad taste in Southampton’s mouth.

TalkSPORT’s Alex Crook also reported that Tottenham have not yet made an official approach for the striker this summer.

The Express have now suggested that Spurs could use their own players to their advantage. Southampton signed Kyle Walker-Peters from Tottenham last summer alongside the Hojbjerg deal, after all.

The report names Harry Winks, Ryan Sessegnon, Joe Rodon, and Oliver Skipp as four potential player swap options for Spurs.

Spurs Web Opinion:

It would be a hard no from me on all of the above apart from Winks. A swap for Ings and Winks would be a good one, although I would argue that Winks is worth more due to his age and contract situation compared to the injury-prone and ageing Ings with just 12 months left on his deal.
