Report suggests one man Tottenham could easily replace Fabio Paratici with

COPE have claimed that it would be relatively straightforward for Tottenham to hire Getafe’s director of football, Ramon Planes, as Fabio Paratici’s replacement.

On Tuesday, Spurs were rocked by the news that Paratici’s 30-month ban, which was initially applicable in Italian football, had been extended to all leagues across the world (Sky Sports News).

The ban was handed to the Italian following Juvenuts’ capital gains trail back in January, and unless his appeal, which will be heard on April 19, is successful, the 50-year-old would have to resign from his position at Tottenham (The Guardian).

The Telegraph reported on Wednesday that Paratici’s role at Tottenham is in major doubt, with the club thought to be speaking with their lawyers over their options.

Tottenham then confirmed that Paratici had stepped down from his role for the time being until the results of his appeal are found.

COPE have now claimed that Planes is one of the options on the North London club’s radar to replace their current managing director of football, and the Premier League club would not have much difficulty in hiring the Spaniard.

This is because Getafe president Angel Torres ‘will not put any impediment’ in place should the 55-year-old decide that he wants the Spurs job.

The publication adds that Planes’ days at the La Liga club are ‘numbered’ and that he is expected to leave the Coliseum Alfonso Perez at the end of the season.

Spurs Web Opinion

Tottenham would have likely started identifying potential replacements for Paratici as soon as the news broke in January of his ban.

However, one can understand why Levy is keen to stick with the Italian if possible as the current project at Spurs has the 50-year-old’s fingerprint on it.

He is the one who has been trusted with building the squad and thus, he would be the best person to sell its merits to any potential managerial candidates.
