Report suggests Spurs could pursue Dele Alli swap deal

CalcioMercato have suggested that Tottenham Hotspur and Inter Milan could be involved in a swap deal which involves two players going each way when the January transfer window opens.

Spurs and Inter Milan business last January, with Christian Eriksen swapping the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for the San Siro.

Despite rumours of Inter Milan previously wanting to sign Tanguy Ndombele in the summer and Spurs pursuing a deal for Milan Skriniar (Tuttosport via Sport Witness), neither deal materialised.

CalcioMercato claim that the Nerrazuri are eyeing two out of favour Spurs stars in Dele Alli and Danny Rose.

The report claims that Rose will help bolster the left-wing-back area where Antonio Conte is short of options.

It is said that the Serie A giants could also be eyeing a move for Alli as the England international would provide physicality to the Inter midfield.

Meanwhile, it is revealed that Eriksen’s time at Inter could come to an end this January and Tottenham could return with another offer for the Dane having seen a loan enquiry turned down in the summer.

The report also suggests that Spurs still hold an interest in Skriniar and a swap deal between the two clubs is said to be a possibility.

Spurs Web Opinion

It sounds like CalcioMercato are just speculating based on what was reported during the summer transfer window. After the acquisition of Rodon, I would be surprised if we still pushed ahead with a move for Skriniar in January. I certainly cannot see where Eriksen would fit in, with Ndombele, Lo Celso and Lamela predominantly being used as a number 8 in the 4-3-3 we now use.
