Report suggests two new potential destinations for Spurs midfielder in January

The Telegraph have claimed that Monaco could make an offer for out of favour Spurs midfielder Dele Alli during the January transfer window.

Former Tottenham head of recruitment Paul Mitchell, who now works at the Ligue 1 club is said to be monitoring the midfielder’s situation.

The Daily Mail reported earlier this week that Alli has been left frustrated by a lack of explanation by Jose Mourinho on why he has fallen down the pecking order and what he has to do to get back into the team.

They suggested that the midfielder’s situation is unlikely to change until January and he might be on the move with Paris Saint-Germain being backed to return for his services after seeing their loan offers for the midfielder turned down during the last transfer window.

The Telegraph backs The Mail’s claim about Alli looking for a potential exit route from North London but they suggest that PSG may not make another offer.

Instead, their Ligue 1 rivals Monaco are touted as a possible destination, while the report also suggests that Mauricio Pochettino might be ready to take him if he returns to management the close of the January transfer window.

Given that there are less than two months to go until the transfer window reopens, I cannot see Alli getting enough opportunities to prove himself and get back in Mourinho’s good books.

After his display against Royal Antwerp last week, the midfielder looks unlikely to get a start even in the Europa League. Unfortunately, it looks like his Spurs career might be over.
