Report: Summer target is not convinced by the idea of joining Tottenham

FCInterNews have claimed that Inter Milan hold a big advantage over Tottenham Hotspur in the race for Alessandro Buongiorno as the Torino star is not keen on joining the North London side.

The report primarily discussed Inter’s pursuit of Buongiorno, explaining that the Nerazzurri are having to deal with competition from the Premier League.

It is not only Tottenham who are presenting that competition but also Newcastle, who are also thought to be admirers of the centre-back.

Inter Milan have advantage over Spurs and Newcastle

The report suggests that while Torino’s demands of €40m (£34.4m) may be challenging for Inter to meet, it might not be a big issue for the two Premier League sides.

However, the outlet goes on to say that even though Spurs and Magpies have stepped forward for Buongiorno, those sides ‘do not convince him that much’.

It is asserted that Simone Inzaghi’s men could hold the upper hand in the race as the defender prefers remaining in Serie A.

Finally, the publication adds that Inter are now working on a solution to sign the Italy international and are considering all options, including offering players to Torino and proposing an initial loan deal with an obligation to buy.

Spurs Web Opinion

I doubt whether either one of Buongiorno or Riccardo Calafiori is at the top of Tottenham’s wishlist. The club will likely prefer to sign a homegrown defender as their fourth-choice centre-back, given the issues they have with respect to the homegrown numbers.
