Report: Supercomputer predicts Spurs and Arsenal’s chances of winning PL title

According to Data Analysis form FiveThirtyEight, Tottenham Hotspur are expected to finish in fourth place in the Premier League this season.

Tottenham have started the season impressively, with Antonio Conte’s men still unbeaten in the Premier League, having taken 17 points from a total of 21 on offer so far.

The Lilywhites sit just one point below league leaders Arsenal and are tied on points with Manchester City.

Based on various metrics, including the performances of various sides this season and in recent years, FiveThirtyEight have now deduced that Spurs have a 6 per cent chance of winning the Premier League title this season.

They also calculate that the Lilywhites have a 55 per cent chance of finishing in the top four once again.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have been backed to finish third, with Mikel Arteta’s men said to have an 8 per cent chance of winning the title and a 59 per cent chance of finishing in the top four.

Liverpool have been backed to come second despite their poor start to the season, with the Reds said to have a 15 per cent chance of winning the title.

Unsurprisingly, Manchester City have been backed to retain the title, with FiveThirtyEight giving Pep Guardiola’s men a 66 per cent chance of doing so.

Spurs Web Opinion

On the whole, the numbers do seem fair as I do not think there is much to separate us and Arsenal at the moment. Despite their poor start to the season, Liverpool still have to be favourites to finish second, given the standards they have maintained over several years.
