Report: Swansea City are working to sign 20-year-old Tottenham midfielder

Swansea are putting together a deal to try and sign Tottenham midfielder Harvey White, according to Football Insider.

The Swans have been credited with an interest in the 20-year-old while a host of other EFL clubs are also said to be monitoring his situation.

It is not stated whether this would be a loan or a permanent move. The report simply states White is highly regarded at Spurs, although the club has not yet decided on how they plan to use him next season.

The England youth international spent time in and around the first-team under Antonio Conte in the second half of last season, featuring regularly on the bench in the Premier League (Transfermarkt).

White has played a part in Spurs’ pre-season preparations over the summer, being part of Conte’s squad for the recent tour of South Korea.

An exit for the versatile midfielder, who can also play at left-back, would signal the second move away from North London in his career after spending the 2020-21 campaign on loan at Portsmouth.

First-team football will be pretty limited for White next season so a loan move does look like the best option. Swansea could be a good place for him to play so he can gain more senior experience, so hopefully something can come together.
