Report: Talented playmaker expected to undergo Spurs medical this week

According to a report in InformaBetis, Real Betis midfielder Giovani Lo Celso will have a medical with Tottenham this week before completing a move to the Lilywhites.

The report claims that the midfielder is Pochettino’s preferred choice to replace Christian Eriksen and that the Argentina international is keen on moving to North London.

The report goes on to claim that due to Lo Celso’s desire to join the Champions League runners up over other teams, Betis are willing to reduce their asking price for the midfielder

While the La Liga club initially wanted €75 million for the 23-year-old, it is suggested that they are now willing to settle for €70 million due to the player’s keenness to move.

It is asserted that while Spurs and Betis haven’t been able to agree on a fee for Lo Celso yet, they are now really close to doing so. It is claimed that only after Betis strike a deal with Spurs for Lo Celso, can they bring in their two main targets – Nabil Fekir and Borja Iglesias.

Spurs Web Opinion

Several reports from Spain suggest that this move is now close to happening. We at Spurs Web think that if Tottenham splash around €70 million for Lo Celso after just smashing their transfer record to get Ndombele, then it almost surely confirms that Eriksen will be leaving this summer.
