Report: Tanguy Ndombele’s proposed move to PSG could fall through

According to Friday’s print edition of L’Equipe (as related by Sport Witness), Tanguy Ndombele’s proposed move to Paris Saint-Germain is becoming less likelier to go through with each passing day.

Multiple sources revealed yesterday that Ndombele was edging closer to a loan move to PSG.

Julien Laurens suggested that the Ligue 1 giants were optimistic of completing the midfielder’s signing on loan, with an option to buy in the summer.

Fabrizio Romano claimed that all three parties are confident that an agreement can be reached on the transfer.

However, according to L’Equipe’s most recent update, PSG’s inability to raise funds through player sales during last summer and during the current window could cripple their ability to sign Ndombele.

The report explains that the ‘sluggishness’ of Mauricio Pochettino’s side in getting some players out of the door means that they now ‘cannot recruit’.

It is asserted that the Ligue 1 club could have issues covering the 25-year-old’s salary.

In addition, L’Equipe add that some within PSG are worried about Ndombele’s ‘state of mind’ while others feel that he is too similar to Paul Pogba, who could arrive in Paris on a free transfer in the summer.

Spurs Web Opinion

So far, this window has been an unmitigated disaster, both in terms of moving players on and bringing players in. Conte would likely be extremely displeased with the club seemingly failing in their pursuit of Traore (Guardian) and Diaz (The Athletic).

He could well be fuming if he is stuck with Ndombele until the end of the season, given that the Italian reportedly did not even want the Frenchman training with the rest of the Spurs squad (Football.London).
