Report: Teenage talent wanted by Spurs signs new one-year contract with club

Scottish teenage starlet, Reegan Mimnaugh, who was said to be on Tottenham’s radar, has now put pen to paper on a new contract with Hamilton Academical, according to the Scottish Sun.

Mimnaugh broke into Hamilton’s team last season and shot to the limelight by putting in several impressive performances in the Scottish Premier League.

The silky left-footer’s technique and guile on the ball brought him to the attention of several English clubs, with The Herald claiming in December that Spurs were keeping a close eye on him.

They also revealed that Championship duo Leeds United and Fulham were tracking the youngster’s progress.

However, he has failed to maintain the same level of performances this season, having made just five appearances for Hamilton so far (transfermarkt.com).

The Scottish Sun has now revealed that the 18-year-old has signed a one-year contract at the Fountain of Youth Stadium.

It is claimed that Mimnaugh wants to continue his development at the Scottish club for one more season despite interest from England.

Spurs Web Opinion

Mimnaugh was likely just one of many youngsters around Europe we were scouting at the time, which is probably why the Scottish Herald reported us as a potential suitor. It doesn’t mean that we are likely to move for the 18-year-old, particularly given that he has not quite managed to hit the same levels this season.
