Report: Temptation of Spurs remains for striker amidst contract negotiations

Gazzetta dello Sport have revealed that Fiorentina have opened negotiations with rumoured Tottenham target Dusan Vlahovic over a new contract.

Reports over recent weeks have revealed that Nuno Espirito Santo is keen to bolster his forward line as he wants to employ a formation with two strikers next season.

While Danny Ings is thought to be Tottenham’s number one target, Vlahovic’s name is also rumoured to be on Fabio Paratici’s radar.

However, Gazzetta have now revealed that the 21-year-old has opened dialogue with Viola over a new contract.

The report claims that Fiorentina have offered the striker a three-year contract worth €3m-per-season (£2.5m) plus a series of bonuses linked to appearances and goals that could take it to around €3m (£3.4m).

The striker is said to be willing to commit his future to the Serie A club but it is stated ‘the temptation of Tottenham’ remains in the background for Vlahovic.

One of the issues that need to be sorted out during the negotiations is the insertion of a release clause in the Serbian international’s contract worth around €70m (£60m).

Spurs Web Opinion

I cannot see us signing Vlahovic if Harry Kane ends up staying. Not only would the Serbian prove too expensive for Spurs if they do not cash in on Kane but the 21-year-old is also unlikely to be tempted by the transfer if he is not promised regular first-team football.
