Report: The FA Cup TV deal that could be bad news for Spurs’ Champions League run

Tottenham Hotspur take on Middlesbrough in the FA Cup this evening at the new stadium in North London, a replay from the first match that ended 1-1 at the Riverside.

An extra January fixture would have been far from ideal for Jose Mourinho and his struggle Tottenham team, especially after four games without a win in all competitions.

However, could the FA Cup be about the hand them an even bigger blow in the future, if they make it that far in the competition?

Spurs already know that they face a trip to Southampton in the fourth round if they defeat Middlesbrough tonight, but what about the fifth round?

It has now been reported by Football London that the fifth round fixtures have been switched to midweek for the first time ever due to the winter break. At least one of these fixtures will take place on Thursday 5, March.

Spurs are already due to play Wolves on March 1, Burnley on March 7, RB Leipzig on March 10, and Man United on March 14.
