Report: The five positions Levy and Hitchen want to sign players in this summer

Sky Sports have revealed that Tottenham are likely to have a busy summer, with several incomings and outgoings expected over the next couple of months.

The club are now in the process of identifying and appointing a new manager, with Mauricio Pochettino and Antonio Conte reported to be the favourites for the job.

Sky Sports claim that Sprus’ summer plans have been unchanged by Jose Mourinho’s departure, with both chairman Daniel Levy and technical performance director, Steve Hitchen, being clear about which areas of the squad need strengthening.

It is explained that the North Londoners could potentially be in the market for a goalkeeper, left-back, right-back, a midfielder and at least one forward.

The futures of Serge Aurier, Moussa Sissoko, Ben Davies and Erik Lamela are in doubt while Lucas Moura could also leave, with the Brazilian being the subject of interest from the middle east.

The club are said to be assessing goalkeeping options as well as a forward who can play on the right side due to the question marks over the futures of Hugo Lloris and Gareth Bale.

Joachim Andersen is named as Tottenham’s number one centre-back target and it is asserted that Kane’s desire to leave the club has also led to some contingency plans being drafted.

While Spurs were initially said to be in the market for a backup to Kane, the club have now identified Ollie Watkins, Danny Ings and Victor Osimhen as potential targets should the England captain depart.

Spurs Web Opinion

Given how busy we could be over the course of the summer, the sooner we appoint a new manager, the better. However, the European Championship could also complicate transfers, with most players likely to only finalise their moves after the tournament.

Our chances of signing some of our targets could also depend a great deal on whether or not we manage to find buyers for our fringe players. So, it seems likely that most of our business is once again going to be completed late in the window.
