Tottenham Hotspur have started the transfer window in encouraging fashion as they sealed the signing of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Southampton last week.
Reports indicate that Joe Hart is likely to be the next person in through the door in North London, with the experienced goalkeeper coming in to replace Michel Vorm (Evening Standard).
The Express now claims that Jose Mourinho has handed a Daniel Levy a shortlist of four more players that he wants to be signed before the end of the transfer window.
The report asserts that the Spurs boss wants to bring Watford left-back Pervis Estupinan to the club but could face competition from Chelsea and Barcelona for the Ecuadorian’s signature.
Callum Wilson is said to be the club’s main target as far as a back up to Harry Kane is concerned, while the report suggests that the Portuguese coach also wants Spurs to make a shock move to sign Ainsley Maitland-Niles from rivals, Arsenal.
The report also asserts that Mourinho wants Spurs to test Roma’s resolve in hanging on to Nicolo Zaniolo, with a £45m bid being plotted for the 21-year-old.
Spurs Web Opinion
Out of the four names mentioned in the list, I believe Wilson is the only one we can realistically sign this summer. Arsenal would not want to sell Maitland-Niles to us while we are unlikely to be in a position to pay what Roma would demand for Zaniolo. Additionally, a new left-back is clearly not as much of a priority for the Lilywhites as a right-back and a centre-half. Therefore, I cannot really see us paying big money to sign Estupinan.
