Report: The price tag Inter Milan have put on Spurs-linked Denzel Dumfries

CalcioMercato have revealed that Inter Milan’s valuation of Tottenham target Denzel Dumfries has increased substantially in light of his performances at the World Cup.

Despite his indifferent form at club level this season, Dumfries has demonstrated at the World Cup how effective he can be at right wing-back, having three goal contributions to his name in four matches in Qatar so far (Transfermarkt).

Reports in Italy over recent weeks have indicated that Tottenham and Chelsea are set to battle it out for the Netherlands international’s signature when the transfer window opens in January (TuttoSport).

Agent Massimo Brambati has urged the Nerazzurri to cash in on the 26-year-old and sign a cheaper alternative in January (TMW).

If CalcioMercato’s latest update is to be believed, that is exactly what the Serie A club plan on doing as they believe that Dumfries’ market value has ‘reached its peak’ on the back of his impressive display against the United States in the round of 16 stage.

The report asserts that although Inter signed the right wing-back from PSV Eindhoven for just €13m (£11.2), they believe they can get around €52m (£44.7) for him in January.

Spurs Web Opinion

While Dumfries is a competent wing-back, he is certainly not flawless. I do not think he is worth over £30m-£35m and I expect Spurs to walk away from the deal if Inter quote upwards of £40m for the 26-year-old. I can perhaps see Paratici exploring a part-exchange deal with Emerson Royal going the other way.
