Report: There are some reservations inside Spurs about signing 24-year-old PL star

The Telegraph have revealed that some at Tottenham have reservations about pursuing Leicester midfielder Youri Tielemans.

Although Tielemans has failed to live up to his usual standards this season, the midfielder has been one of Leicester’s most consistent performers since arriving at the King Power Stadium in 2019.

The 24-year-old’s future is up in the air as he will have just one year left on his contract with the Foxes at the end of the season (Transfermarkt

The midfielder admitted last month that he is ready to make a step up to a ‘top European club’ (talkSPORT).

GiveMeSport claimed last week that Spurs plan to make a move for Tielemans in the summer should they qualify for the Champions League.

Fabrizio Romano revealed on a recent episode of the Here We Go podcast (19/04/22) that the Belgian international will leave Leicester at the end of the season but added that five or six clubs, including Spurs, were competing for his signature.

The Telegraph have now cast doubt on Tielemans’ proposed move to Spurs by claiming that there are ‘reservations from inside’ the North London club over the Leicester star.

Tielemans’ performance levels have dropped off this season but that might be down to the midfielder not being as motivated to perform as in previous years. He could get back to his best next season if he gets a move and I believe that the 24-year-old could be a decent squad player for us.
