Despite being one step away from being crowned as the Champions of Europe just months ago, Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino finds himself under considerable pressure following the club’s poor start to the campaign.
While the Argentine maintained a defiant tone through the crisis, the Telegraph reported that he is edging closer to an exit as the club fears that this season might not be salvageable.
Spurs have reportedly already identified several alternatives for Pochettino including the likes of Jose Mourinho, Massimiliano Allegri, Julian Nagelsmann, Eddie Howe and Gareth Southgate.
However, a report in Football.London claims that several big clubs in Europe could move for Pochettino if Spurs sack him. The report identifies Manchester United, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint-Germain as possible destinations for the 47-year-old if he leaves Tottenham.
While the Argentine has been linked with Man Utd and Real Madrid previously, Bayern are currently without a full time manager having sacked Niko Kovac. Pochettino meanwhile has a close connection with PSG having featured as a player for the club for three seasons.

The fact that so many top clubs are lining him up to take over tells you how big a mistake it will be to sack Pochettino. He has proved that he has the tactical nous to compete with the best managers in the world and so the Argentine should be backed considerably in the next window and be given one final chance to turn the team’s fortunes around.
