Report: Three clubs interested in signing Spurs man on loan in January

Football League World have revealed that three clubs from the Championship have expressed an interest in signing Jack Clarke on loan in January.

Since arriving at Tottenham in a £10m deal in the summer of 2019, Clarke has spent much of his time out on loan.

The 21-year-old had unsuccessful spells at Leeds United and QPR during the 2019/20 campaign but the winger did show some promise during his loan spell at Stoke City in the second half of last season.

Spurs decided not to let him go out on loan this summer and the youngster has subsequently made just one senior appearance for the Lilywhites this campaign, which came in the Europa Conference League qualifier against Pacos De Ferriera.

Clarke now has a new Tottenham boss in the dugout to impress in the form of Antonio Conte and it appears unlikely that he is going to get senior appearances under his belt.

Football League World have now claimed that Tottenham are ready to loan out the Leeds academy graduate when the transfer window opens in January.

Relegation threatening Barnsley and mid-table duo Middlesbrough and Sheffield United are alleged to be interested in singing the Spurs man.

Even if the decision-makers at Tottenham think Clarke does not have the ability to be a future first-team prospect, it would make sense to send him out on loan. The only way the club can recoup even half of what they paid for him two years ago is if he impresses in the Championship.
