Report: Three injured Spurs stars set to return for North London Derby

Football.London’s Alasdair Gold has revealed that Yves Bissouma, Dejan Kulusevski and Rodrigo Bentancur are set to be available for selection for the clash against Arsenal.

Bentancur, along with Richarlison and Lucas Moura, has been sidelined since the Premier League’s restart while the trio were joined on the treatment table by Dejan Kulusevski following Spurs’ Boxing Day clash against Brentford.

Meanwhile, Bissouma missed the FA Cup clash against Portsmouth with an ankle problem, with Oliver Skipp getting a late call-up to replace the Mali international in the starting lineup on Saturday.

Tottenham’s assistant head coach Cristian Stellinin confirmed following the 1-0 win on Saturday that Bissouma will ‘absolutely’ be fit for the North London derby and added that he expects some other players to also be back but not all of them (Football.London).

Gold has now revealed that among the others, Kulusevski is currently ‘the best placed’ to return for the clash against Arsenal while Bentancur is also expected to be ready for the match.

The journalist stated that Richarlison is slightly behind the duo in the race to be back but added that there is a chance that the Brazilian could make the bench if he is passed fit to do so.

However, the injury status of his compatriot Lucas Moura is said to be unknown, with the 30-year-old continuing to deal with an ongoing inflamed tendon issue.

Spurs Web Opinion

The return of Kulusevski and Bentancur would absolutely transform our side, and realistically, we need both players back fit if we are to beat Arsenal.

The game on Saturday is undoubtedly our biggest of the season so far, not just because of the rivalry, but also because it can set the tempo for either club for the remainder of the season.

A win for us will give the players the confidence to push on and close the gap on the Gunners while a defeat will almost guarantee that Arsenal would finish above us for the first time in seven years.
