Report: Three long-serving Spurs stars could leave the club in the summer

Reports over the last few weeks have indicated that Jose Mourinho is targetting as many as four new signings in the summer as he looks to rebuild the Spurs squad for next season (Football Insider).

Football. London have now claimed that among the players expected to leave the club this summer are three who have been great servants for Tottenham over many years.

The report asserts that Jan Vertonghen, Danny Rose, and Erik Lamela are all likely to leave North London at the end of the current season.

Vertonghen’s contract with the club runs out in the summer and the defender has already been linked with a move to Inter Milan (Standard) as well as return to Ajax (De Telegraaf).

Rose is currently on loan at Newcastle United and he too is expected to be sold permanently when the transfer market reopens.

The report controversially also suggests that Spurs could look to recoup the £30 million they paid for Lamela back in 2013, despite the Argentine being praised by Jose Mourinho on a couple of occasions this season.

Spurs Web Opinion

Danny Rose is certainly on his way out of the club in the summer while I also can’t see Vertoghen being handed a new contract on the back of his performances over the last few months. However, I don’t expect Lamela to be sold just yet. I believe the Argentine is just the type of player that Mourinho will love working with given his commitment and ability to take instructions on board.
